Finally, we've got our hands on "The Bruce"! This exciting New Zealand hop blend has been created by Freestyle Hops and already made award-winning beers. Bruce and Betty Eggers farmed their Sunrise Valley property for more than 50 years, and they continue to watch over (literally!) from their new house above the farm.
The Bruce is a vibrant, aromatic, and concentrated blend of Freestyle Hops created in honor of Bruce Eggers. To make The Bruce they've used early Nelson Sauvin, early Motueka, late Pacifica and mid Pacific Jade (that's the picking times). The aroma has fresh gooseberry, citrus peel, ripe tropical fruit and orange blossom. When brewed, the complex aromatics remain true to rubbing.
Our Bruce Hop IPA uses our New England malt base of pale malt, oat malt, wheat and flaked oats in the brewhouse. Then we use 3 lbs of hard to get “Bruce ” hops through the brewing process. This famous New Zealand blend of hops consists of Nelson Sauvin, motueka, pacifica and pacific jade and gives this brew notes of gooseberry, citrus and tropical fruits.
We could only get enough to do very a limited batch and we didn't have enough to send out for distribution. Don't miss out on this one!
